Have you ever wanted to make things better for people with disabilities? Do you believe that people with disabilities have important things to teach others? Would you like to learn how to be a leader? If you answered yes, then the ALP-NC training program is for you. ALP-NC is a new class for people with and without disabilities. We will teach you how to be an advocate and leader for the disability community. You will work together with other advocates to make things better for people with disabilities.

This organization provides support for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as well as their sibling care partners. Services include natural supports education, community networking, assistance for navigating Medicaid funded services, and peer support/coaching.

The Alliance Consumer and Family Advisory Committee, or CFAC, is made up of consumers and family members who receive mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use/addiction services. CFAC is a self-governing committee that serves as an advisor to Alliance administration and the Board of Directors. State statutes charge CFAC with the following responsibilities: Review, comment on and monitor the implementation of the local business plan Identify service gaps and underserved populations Make recommendations regarding the service array and monitor the development of additional services Review and comment on the Alliance budget Participate in all quality improvement measures and performance indicators Submit findings and recommendations to the State Consumer and Family Advisory Committee regarding ways to improve the delivery of mental health, intellectual/other developmental disabilities, and substance use/addiction services.

ADA strives to enable people to with any disabilities to fully participate in their communities without boundaries in the Raleigh-Durham and surrounding area. They offer advocacy, disaster response, independent living services, information and referrals, peer support, reentry, and transition support.

Our Autism Resource Specialists are available to help individuals and families in every county of North Carolina.

Caldwell Opportunities offers chances for adults with I/DD to participate in vocational training through various volunteer and employment placements. They also facilitate community building through their on-site activity spaces.

Serves as a link between EC parents and the district by sharing information, identifying concerns, and improving collaboration.

Empowering individuals and families through education, Covenant promotes choices, variety, and alternatives in service options. The organization is committed to explaining the benefits of all eligible services, irrespective of the chosen service provider. In addition to education, Covenant serves as an advocate, ensuring the rights and interests of individuals and families are represented for full legal rights and access to services. Moreover, Covenant forms partnerships with local community entities to overcome barriers, offering quality treatment and facilitating independent lifestyles for the individuals they serve. The organization also assists in building community partnerships, connecting individuals and families with both paid and natural support for a more independent life. They also contract with Spanish interpreters to serve Spanish-speaking families.

Diligent Care, Inc. offers both short- and long-term support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Their services include facilitated opportunities for community networking, supportive employment, and residential support.

Our mission is to assist persons with disabilities in accomplishing their independent living goals and objectives. We strive to ensure that the community in which they live is fully accessible, including equal access to programs and services. DAC provides the following five core independent living services to individuals within our service area: independent living skills training, information and referral, institutional and youth transitions support, individual and systems advocacy, and peer mentoring.
