The Alliance Consumer and Family Advisory Committee, or CFAC, is made up of consumers and family members who receive mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use/addiction services. CFAC is a self-governing committee that serves as an advisor to Alliance administration and the Board of Directors. State statutes charge CFAC with the following responsibilities: Review, comment on and monitor the implementation of the local business plan Identify service gaps and underserved populations Make recommendations regarding the service array and monitor the development of additional services Review and comment on the Alliance budget Participate in all quality improvement measures and performance indicators Submit findings and recommendations to the State Consumer and Family Advisory Committee regarding ways to improve the delivery of mental health, intellectual/other developmental disabilities, and substance use/addiction services.

BAYADA Habilitation in Greensboro, NC is a specialty practice of BAYADA Home Health Care that helps clients with special needs related to intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) to live safely at home and participate in their communities with comfort, independence, and dignity. Our one-on-one habilitation services provide education, support, and assistive care for clients with diagnoses such as Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, or cerebral palsy to help them acquire, maintain, and improve skills related to activities of daily living (ADLs). Our focus on community integration sets BAYADA Habilitation apart from other providers. Our approach emphasizes teaching clients to do things for themselves while offering periodic relief and respite services for family members and caregivers. Together, we help our clients function as meaningfully and independently as possible in their homes and communities. In some cases, when appropriate, we can train a family caregiver to become a paid BAYADA Habilitation Technician or Hab Tech.

Black Families and Providers Accessing Services Together (BFAST) is a UNC TEACCH Autism Program project that connects members of the Black community to individualized and culturally sensitive intervention services for Black autistic individuals.
