Services/Programs Description

Career Academy is a program of career exploration, career development, and academic instruction designed for students with learning difficulties and challenges. In collaboration with Pitt County Vocational Rehab, the class provides extensive (2 year program) opportunities to explore and develop job skills, career choices, academics in within the vocational context.

Pitt Community College also offers an Adult Basic Education (ABE) program for for adults who need to improve communication (reading, writing, speaking), numeracy, computation, and problem-solving skills necessary to function effectively on a job, in post-secondary training, in the family or in society. All classes are designed to provide reading, writing, and math instruction in the context of workforce and career development and preparation.
