The 1915(i) waiver offers free Medicaid services to support your independence at home or in the community. These services started July 1, 2023. Even if you are not a recipient of the Medicaid Innovations waiver, you may qualify for these services!
The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities and The Arc of North Carolina have released a study, A Report on the Economic Impact of the IDD Community, examining the effects of the limited number of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and how it impacts people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families.
The award was given to Work Together NC and will support the Inclusion Works initiative, which helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve competitive integrated employment. NCDHHS is providing $4 million over a three-year period to Work Together NC using funds received from the state budget.
