Section 504 is federal civil rights law under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) administers Section 504—not the State. A 504 plan is designed to give students with disabilities or medical conditions equal access to the general education curriculum. We will explore accommodations and how they can be used to level the playing field for learners.

Presented by Anastacia Newton, ECAC Parent Educator and the Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center (www.ecac-parentcenter.org)
