Durham Exchange Club Industries of Durham North Carolina will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting with local Durham members of the House of Representative and local State Senators to discuss the current events related to accessing Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services.

The event will be live and in-person (see address above).

Representatives will respond to questions and give insight into current legislation that pertains to the difficulty of gaining access to services utilized by individuals with disabilities.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Innovations Waiver waitlist
  • Accessing services for the currently unfunded
  • The impact of lack of services on working households
  • The transition from school to community supports
  • Housing (group home and supervised apartments
  • Answers to submitted questions along with a live Q&A session

Attendees should submit specific questions they may have when then RSVP. Questions should relate specifically to the services and specific needs of the IDD community.
