Black Families and Providers Accessing Services Together (BFAST)
What is this resource?
Black Families and Providers Accessing Services Together (BFAST) is a UNC TEACCH Autism Program project that connects members of the Black community to individualized and culturally sensitive intervention services for Black autistic individuals. The webpage linked below leads to BFAST’s “Ages and Stages” information, which includes services/resources specifically for adolescents and adults as well. Additionally, the BFAST website describes how Black families can build a team for health providers, community members, and personal connections to support their child(ren) with autism. They also address pressing topics of autism stigma/myths, advocacy, and how to feel confident as a parent with a child with autism.
